Lost and Found Market

Price Quality Size Vibe NFP

Description

Welcome to vintage nirvana! This pre-loved paradise consists of a series of small stalls run by individual stakeholders, resulting in pockets of hand selected vintage stock each with its own flavour and focus – some are filled with cameras, many are crammed with clothes and shoes, while others are brimming with homewares and furniture.  The Lost and Found Market has been running since 2004, during this time it has shifted to various locations in Collingwood, most recently to Perry Street, just off Smith Street.  Ross (the owner) and his team have once again demonstrated their  capacity to turn an empty warehouse into a vintage wonderland.  Their clever layout and manipulation of space will guide you on a journey through the cornucopia of stock – this thrift store is massive, so be prepared to spend many hours absorbing its vintage delights.

Clearance Centre, Smith Street

Price Quality Size Vibe NFP

Description

This place is chaos!  There is no discernible order to the collection here with items strewn across this cavernous variety shop.  I use the term ‘variety’ as the Clearance Centre on Smith Street is not exclusively secondhand.  The collection of bikes that line the storefront hint at the farrago of objects inside this thrift store: bikes, books, wigs, luggage, vacuums, oriental fans, stereos, blenders, clothing, linen, toy, collectables, memorabilia, lamps, shopping trolleys, cassettes… even ice-skates!  There are heaps of bikes here, some don’t appear to be in working order however the man running the store seems adept at fixing them so if you are interested in a particular specimen it may be worthwhile talking to him.
