$$$ Price guide: getting pricey

Chapel Street Bazaar

Price Quality Size Vibe NFP

Description

Given its status as a south side vintage institution, it would be remiss of me to not to visit The Chapel Street Bazaar whilst in Prahran.  Like many other secondhand stores of this scale the Chapel Street Bazaar is broken up into individual stalls, each curated by a different pre-loved purveyor.  Inside this enormous shop you will find a cacophony of goodies including furniture, glassware, crockery, telephones, crystal, canistes, lamps, stamps, slides, records, dolls & figurines, record players, shoes, clothing, watches, jewellery, globes, cameras, model boats, rocking horses… I could go on for days – seriously!

The Verdict

Allow yourself plenty of time to explore this vintage store and take in its myriad of wonders.  The collection of homewares was definitely a highlight, particularly the stall teeming with lamps towards the rear of the store.  If you are looking for something specific or just happy browsing you are sure to enjoy a visit to the Chapel Street Bazaar.

      Hi Robyn,

The map section of Vintage Melbourne will serve as a good starting point if you are looking for a guide to vintage shops and markets in Melbourne. Camberwell Market is also a must see if you are in town on a Sunday.

      Hope this helps.
      Cheers,

      Rosie
