Description
As you make your way down Queensberry Street keep your eyes peeled for the blue awning that adorns the entry to Community First Op Shop. Inside you will find a strange melange of secondhand goods including clothing, shoes, records, books, VHS, lamps, mannequins, vases, homeswares, jewellery, suitcases and bags. Amongst the chaos there were a number of stand out items – a beautifully crafted 1930s golf club, baby blue typewriter, metal chests, scales and a number of world weary suitcases.
The Verdict
I had cycled passed this op shop a number of times and had high hopes for it. After half an hour of rummaging through the very eclectic array of goods I have to say I found the collection slightly underwhelming. While it’s not worth crossing town for I’d recommend popping in to Community First Op Shop next time you’re in North Melbourne.
