Department of History

Price Quality Size Vibe NFP

Description

Department of History on High Street, Thornbury is a feast for the senses.  The music is rocking, the place smells like furniture polish and there are so many wonderful things to see and touch.  The only sense that misses out is taste, sadly I feel that licking the beautiful furniture might be frowned upon by the establishment… and probably wouldn’t taste very nice anyway.  This superb vintage store stocks a wide variety of wares from clothes to light fixtures, with stand out pieces including a massive timber desk with leather top in mint condition, loads of old magazines, fabulous glassware and old-school test tubes in timber holders (these were being used as vases in the store – very snazzy).

The Verdict

It should be said that this shop is not cheap and if you wish to purchase the lovely items on offer you may have to max out your credit card or perhaps sell you liver – totally worth it.  Jokes aside, you get what you pay for and the stock at the Department of History is of a super high quality so if you have the means this is where you should spend it.  A visit to the Department of History really is a treat and you should allow yourself ample time to enjoy the incredible array of goods on display.  Go there – it will rock your socks off!

Snapshot

Unfortunately the Department of History has a strict no photo taking policy – alas you shall have to go and see all the goodie for yourself.
